It receives the most visitors throughout the year. It is about a 4 ½ hour drive from Las Vegas. A National Park Service entrance fee is required to enter the park.
The West Rim of the Grand Canyon is owned by the Hualapai Nation and is a separate from the National Park Service. It is most famous for its glass bridge Skywalk and has other activities such as a zipline, helicopter flights, and Hualapai Ranch. It is located much closer to Las Vegas, about a 2 ½ hour drive.
The North Rim of the Grand Canyon is also part of Grand Canyon National Park. Although only about 7 miles directly north of the South Rim of the National Park section, it is a very long distance to drive around the canyon from one rim to the other, about 4 hours. The North Rim has a higher elevation, and the road to the area is closed during the winter season, only allowing visitors from Spring to Fall. There are very limited accommodations as well.
